Bryant Cottage State Historic Site

Bryant Cottage State Historic Site preserves and interprets the home of businessman and politician, Francis Bryant, his wife Sarah, and their children. Built in 1856, this Bement, IL cottage is furnished with period appropriate furniture, including pieces owned by the Bryant family. The house museum help demonstrate what life was like during the settling of this region of Illinois. It focuses on the middle-class life of the Bryant's in the mid-to-late nineteenth century.


PreGame Sports LLC

PreGame Sports Complex is an indoor sports training facility that strives to make being active fun and affordable. We provide batting cages, open turf, cardio room, wrestling room, party room, and KLEEN Movement.


Marisa's Purpose Faith, Hope and Love

In May 2016, my daughter Marisa passed away from an accidental drug overdose, leaving our family with very heavy hearts. I never thought any of my children would feel the need to experiment with drugs. I’ve always talked to them about substance abuse, and constantly let them know they could talk to me about anything. It’s easy to think “something like this will never happen to us” and if it does, we end up trying to deny the situation or become embarrassed about the circumstances. The truth is, the drugs that are available today are extremely dangerous and easily accessible. Once addicted, people are left dependent on the drug and feeling helpless. Our mission is to remove the stigma, start the conversation and educate anyone who will listen. Marisa once told me she felt her purpose in life was to help people, and while I didn’t quite comprehend what she meant at the time, I now know she couldn’t have been more right. Marisa may not be here on Earth, but her memory will forever be eternal, and I’m hoping to live out her purpose through the Marisa’s Purpose: Faith, Hope and Love Charity. My ...more

The Piatt County Historical & Genealogical Society (PCHGS) helps preserve the history and heritage of Piatt County. The genealogy holdings are available for research. Genealogists are on site to help. Publications are available for purchase, prices are subject to change without notice. Hours are subject to change depending on availability of volunteers. Monticello Theatre Association

The mission of the Monticello Theatre Association is to foster an appreciation of the performing arts. Inherent in this mission is providing performance opportunities and promoting education in music, dance, art and theater. The Monticello Theatre Association has produced dramatic, comedic and musical shows since 1975. The Association has awarded a scholarship each year to a deserving student of the arts. The Monticello Theatre Association, known more casually as the MTA, is a not-for-profit corporation registered with the State of Illinois. The theater is available for rent for private events.


Hope Lives Youth Ranch

Hope Lives Youth Ranch is a mentoring service catering to youth in the area. Hope Lives specializes in working with at-risk youth, but all children are welcome. We offer 90-minute one-on-one sessions with a horse to help students between the age of 8-18 develop self-confidence and leadership skills.


HMD Academy of Tae Kwon Do

HMD Academy of Taekwondo -- Martial Arts instruction for all ages. Founded by Grand Master Hyong in 1980 in Champaign, Illinois, HMD Academy is celebrating 50 years of service to the Champaign and Piatt County communities. At HMD Academy, each student is treated individually, by instructors who are trained to gauge a person's progress by his or her own abilities. In this way, all students achieve according to their own scale and develop confidence as they meet their own goals. Don Appleman has led HMD Academy in Monticello as Head Instructor since 2015. He has a strong appreciation for the physical fitness benefits of Taekwondo. Additionally, he sees the connection between advancement in Taekwondo and success in other areas of life, including school and work.
